The Solution

Tremendous Community Involvement that Contributed to prior Field Trials' Successful Outcomes with 823 Women in East TN

In field trials, a pilot program demonstrated its capacity to educate and navigate services (see the names & logos showing some of the participating partners in East TN field trials). The pilot’s partners used risk assessment and healthcare management capacities to increase women’s access to comprehensive healthcare services and education. All women had access to a total wellness recovery program so they could choose to have a healthy baby at the right time.

Key Categories for Total Wellness

This Program will provide a unique range of services for each woman that includes the following:

  • Education

  • Annual check-ups that include access to preventative care – physical (hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc.), breast & cervical screening, etc.

  • Mental Health assessment, evaluation, treatment

  • Social Determinants of Health

  • Rehab Treatment followed by a continuum of total wellness care

Encompass Partners will serve whole families with a multi-generational, whole-family approach (including fathers).

This whole-family approach increases the odds current children will avoid child welfare and juvenile justice systems, maintain family connections, and grow to be healthier and stronger. We will work to support improved parenting and ensure home environments are stable. These efforts:

  • mitigate adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)

  • decrease the entry of children into state custody

  • decrease classroom disruption

  • improve educational engagement and outcomes and increase graduation rates

  • decrease rates of juvenile delinquency

  • and, in the long-term, decrease the likelihood they become addicted themselves, become homeless, incarcerated, and/or on welfare.

Encompass and their coalition of non-profit and government partners will surround families with the necessary services to reinvigorate and reintegrate them into the community. By leveraging existing expertise and collaborating with the best of the nonprofit community, we can create a "no wrong-door" and "no unserved" model providing multi-generational intervention and benefit to our most at risk families.

Through technology, Encompass will ensure a level of communication and safety net where women, children, and families are less likely to fall thru the cracks and less likely to continue the cycle of addiction. Encompass’s strategies assure that all at-risk women will have a total wellness recovery path to overcome substance use, other morbidities than impact children in utero and make positive plans for their futures, ensuring that the children of these women do not have to heal from the impacts of parental substance abuse and can grow up in families without SUD patterns.

Without Health and Human Services and Encompass Partners, the federal and state governments will incur $3.2 trillion in accrued costs over the next 25 years for just one year of all children in all states (assumes $300,000 per year per child).

Without Encompass Partners’s intervention, the following year will repeat this cycle incurring the same costs and expenditures.

Working under the government’s guidance, Encompass Partners can scale to meet the goals of this administration – ramping as quickly as necessary in a single or multi-state strategy to address this Epidemic of Our Generation.
